My experiences within the CBD and hemp industry have been inspirational. I have heard so many moving stories about how CBD has significantly impacted people’s lives. This has been from those close to me and those that have reached out online. These experiences have led me to create a regular series that focuses on different stories people have had with the cannabis plant. These stories will be both inspirational and informational. The series will be written or recorded as a podcast. I hope you enjoy!
On this series, I will be interviewing Dave Fausset. He is the Founder and Co-Owner of AP Sleeping Indian. AP Sleeping Indian makes full spectrum CBD tinctures, salve, and body butter that is hemp derived. All of the products have been grown and processed in Allenspark, CO. Dave began using CBD out of necessity. After sustaining a major injury, he was naturally drawn to CBD. He soon began making his own CBD products which has now turned in to AP Sleeping Indian. I don’t want to give away all the information in the interview, so I hope you enjoy Dave’s interview below.
What experiences have other users, family and friends, etc., had when using your products?
The first person to use our tincture for Lyme Disease reported having a little relief after a couple of weeks and found herself pain free after a month. Please keep in mind, Lyme Disease is a very complex issue. This same person had cataract surgery and she has had very limited benefit since the surgery.
One fellow went to his doctor to arrange surgery for a foot pain. The doctor said the issue wasn’t bad enough to warrant surgery and he mentioned the problem to me. I suggested that he apply a drop of the 2,000 mg tincture directly to the pain area and rub it in. He now applies a drop regularly. He says the pain is gone for as much as 4 days at a time from one application.
The most recent comment from a friend was, “the throbbing in my thumbs has stopped”, and this happened within 2 minutes of applying the salve.
What is your preferred method of administering CBD?
My preferred method is the one that works best for the issue I am experiencing. Having the freedom to use tinctures, salves, butters, lotions and capsules allows the user to make their own choice. My wife particularly likes the capsules, as she doesn’t like the taste of CBD.
After sustaining your injury, have you started using different forms of CBD for different ailments?
Oh, yes, I use tincture orally for a full body, quick assimilation and topically with a drop or so on a particularly painful area and rubbing it in well. I use the salve and body butter for things such as my recently dislocated shoulder, as well as arthritic conditions.
When would a CBD user want to digest/consume CBD orally, and when would they want to use CBD topically?
Using CBD orally is a great way to get the CBD benefits quickly throughout your entire body. It will activate the sensors throughout the body. Topically, the application lets you address a specific area of the body with a concentrated extra boost directly to that area.
AP Sleeping Indian
What is APSI’s goal?
Our goal is to provide the best organically grown hemp CBD products. We use only Colorado grown hemp to provide a quality flower that has been properly dried and free of mold.
The CBD tincture we make for human usage starts at 1,000 mg per ounce. Many companies advertise CBD. Some companies don’t show any level of CBD in their product. Having an even base point of 1,000 mg makes it much easier for the consumer to know what the starting point is. Fifteen drops of the 1,000 mg tincture will deliver 25 mg a day.
We have grown accustomed to being told to take a pill, or two, without giving consideration to our individual weight, age, or health condition. With CBD you are expected to become the driver, and after a couple of weeks, you will be able to recognize subtle changes that will suggest an increase or decrease in the volume you are using daily.
We do not add flavoring to our tincture. We know our customers have different tastes that they find pleasant. You will not damage the tincture by adding food grade, or essential oil grade flavors of your choice.
We provide 3rd party test results for our products and proudly post those results, along with the terpene breakdown. The lab we use has no ownership, nor is there any cross ownership of companies.
What is your long-term vision for APSI?
Our products are made for the discerning user, and we intend to make the product available to those looking for a quality product and helpful answers to your questions.
Our long term goal is to provide the best hemp for your use each and every year.
What is your goal for this planting season?
We have made arrangements for additional acreage and top quality cultivars. We are growing tests plants to provide direction for our 2020 growing season.
What hemp cultivars will you be using this season?
This season we are growing “Cherry” cultivars, primarily “The Wife.” We can’t give projections on the crops for 2020 and beyond, as they will be determined by our ongoing research.
